5 Tips to Help You Find a Quality Moving Company

When looking to relocate your residence or business finding a quality moving company can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Before trusting a moving company with your belongings, there exists a good amount of criteria which you can look at to determine which moving company is right for you. Here are some tips to help you find a quality moving company.

1.Review websites carefully

Make certain that it’s your local mover and not a moving broker.  Some moving brokers have websites that give the impression that they have their own men and trucks.  Most brokers operate call centers that award your move to the lowest bidder. When evaluating potential moving companies, do your research. You can confirm a company is a NJ licensed mover by visiting NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and confirm a mover is licensed to perform out of state moves by visiting US Department of Transportation

2.Check out reviews

Reading through past customer reviews can be a great way to find a reputable moving company. It can really help determine which companies are reliable. Websites like Angie’s List and Google are great for finding reviews from customers who have a past experience with a company.

3.Make sure they’re accredited

Beyond just having good reviews, you should ensure that any moving company you’re seriously considering hiring has received some accolades in the industry. Here at All Jersey Moving & Storage, we’ve received an A+ from the Better Business Bureau, we’ve earned the Angie’s List Super Service Award in 2012 and 2013, and we’re a proud member of the New Jersey Warehousemen’s & Movers Association “Circle of Excellence”

4.Community Involvement

Check to see if the mover you are considering supports their community. Many moving companies that are well established in a community usually have programs that support their community.

5.Choose a company that accepts checks and credit cards

Payment terms should include alternatives to cash. Most quality moving companies will also accept credit cards and certified checks as a form of payment. If a company only accepts cash, you might want to avoid them. Also, find out if the movers require a deposit. Most reputable moving companies require a very small deposit if any. Companies that ask for high deposits could potentially be scams, especially if they require a deposit without a signed contract.

Now that you have some advice, go out there and do your due diligence. Pick a reputable moving company that fits your needs and budget. You can always trust the experts at All Jersey Moving & Storage!
